Can #KateGate finally be put to rest?
In a video released by Kensington Palace, Kate Middleton revealed that she has been diagnosed with cancer. You can watch the clip at the end of this article.
The public had been widely speculating about her health and her relationship with Prince William after it was confirmed in January that she underwent surgery.
The Princess of Wales took the time today to set the record straight. She released a recorded statement that began, “I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery.
“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.”
Kate then went into more detail about the circumstances of her health.
“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was noncancerous,” the 42-year-old continued in the video. “The surgery was successful.”
The mother of three then explained her diagnosis, sharing, “However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”
“My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” Kate detailed.
